Doc Soup is a monthly feature-length documentary series presented in partnership with the Calgary International Film Festival and Hot Docs. The series, now in its 12th year, will run from November 2019 to April 2020. Screening on the first Wednesday of each month (except in January when we screen the second week), Doc Soup brings six of the year's most talked-about docs to local audiences.

Tickets are now on sale for the fourth film in the 2019-2020 series, THE BOOKSELLERS screening at Eau Claire on February 5th. 



A brand new Contemporary world cinema series that navigates the corners of the world bringing compelling stories and experiences for Calgarians to enjoy. This collection of exciting worldly films will make their Calgary debuts at Globe Cinema on the second Wednesday of each month. Global Perspectives takes local audiences around the globe with six of the year's most talked about films. 

Tickets are now on sale for the fourth film in the 2019-2020 series, BEANPOLE screening February 12th at Globe Cinema.

An expansion to CIFF's Music on Screen (MoS) series - MoS Docs is a new documentary series dedicated to showcasing the year's most talked about and compelling music documentaries from around the world - from the grassroots of rock 'n' roll to hip-hop and folk and everything in between.

Tickets are now on sale for the first film in the 2020 series, SAY AMEN, SOMEBODY, screening at Studio Bell-National Music Centre on February 19th.

Oscar-Nominated Shorts 

More than 25% of the films nominated for Oscars each year are shorts, which are typically the least well-known of the Oscar nominees! No prediction ballot is complete without the shorts, so join us January 31 - February 2 at Globe Cinema. Three shorts packages are available; Live Action Shorts, Animated Shorts and Documentary Shorts.

Tickets are now available. Nominees will be announced January 13.
