Venue Crew Volunteers will be assigned to a specific role by the Crew Lead when they arrive for their shift. Roles are divided into Front Lobby and Back Lobby. Individuals on this crew will be friendly, welcoming, and engaged when interacting with patrons, their fellow volunteers and staff. In addition to regular Venue Crew training, individuals on this crew will also complete an online ‘Ask Me’ quiz to ensure they’re prepared to answer patron questions.
Here are descriptions of the different roles a Venue Crew Volunteer could perform during their shift:
Front Lobby roles include:
Ensure patrons have the very best festival experience by providing information to patrons when asked, and proactively approaching festival patrons to provide information if/when appropriate.
Ensure patrons have the very best festival experience by providing information to patrons when asked, ensuring patrons find their way to the correct line-up, providing age-verified wristbands so patrons 18+ may purchase alcohol, and proactively approaching volunteers if/when necessary.
Back Lobby Roles include:
Ensure everyone with a valid ticket is scanned in as efficiently as possible.
Ensure that all patrons who may need to step out of the cinema for any reason are provided with a re-entry ticket and assist in monitoring for underage alcohol consumption.
Ensure patrons are welcomed to and find a seat in the cinema, monitor the quality of the screening, monitor for unauthorized recording of films, monitor for underage drinking, and ensure disruptions to an excellent screening experience are kept to a minimum.
Thank patrons for attending the screening and ensure patrons have every opportunity to submit their ONE vote for the film/short they’ve just seen
Ensure our audiences are welcomed into an inviting space by tidying the cinema after each screening, and tidy the lobby and other spaces as necessary.
