Oscars Fever Hits Calgary!

Calgary International Film Festival brings the excitement of the 91st Oscars®  this February with two exclusive events.  

First, experience Hollywood’s biggest night in style at Calgary’s most anticipated Oscars® viewing party “A Red Carpet Affair” to be held at the historic Palace Theatre (219 – 8th Avenue SW) on Sunday, 24th February at 4:30pm. The event will offer a tempting offering of food & drink as well as Live entertainment, winner prediction ballots and a silent auction. Guests will watch the Oscars® via a live stream on the Palace’s big screen. Proceeds from this black-tie fundraising evening will benefit Calgary Film’s continued mission to showcase Alberta and celebrate local and international film & TV industry.  Tickets are $125. Don’t miss out, tickets are available for purchase now

Prior to the “Red Carpet Affair,” Calgarians are invited to enjoy this year’s Oscar-nominated short films the weekend of February 15-17, 2019.  Nominated short film nominees in all three categories (Animated, Live Action, and Documentary Short Subject) will screen at the Globe Cinema (616 – 8th Avenue SW, Calgary). This is your chance to join audiences around the country and the world in enjoying this years’ selection of shorts and predict your winner! Get your tickets now! Nominations for the 91st Oscars will be announced live on 22 January at 5:30 a.m. PST.

 
 

The 91st Oscars® will be held on Sunday, 24 February 2019, at the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood, and will be televised live on the ABC Television Network in the United States and the CTV Television Network in Canada.  The Oscars also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
