Doc Soup April: BLACK CODE
The Calgary International Film Festival and the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival are pleased to announce the sixth and final film in the 2016-17 Doc Soup Series. BLACK CODE examines the complex global impact that the internet has on free speech, privacy and activism.
Join us at Cineplex Eau Claire on Wednesday, April 5 at 7 p.m. as we close our season of the most anticipated and acclaimed documentaries. Based on the book by University of Toronto Professor Ron Deibert, BLACK CODE looks at how the internet and communications are monitored by governments in their attempts to control and censor citizens. The documentary is an intensive study about the battle for control of cyberspace, and challenges ideas of citizenship, privacy and democracy.
