Alberta Spirit Selection Announced

Posted on July 27, 2016

The Calgary International Film Festival announced the 2016 Alberta Spirit short film program. One of the festival's marquee events, Alberta Spirit recognizes the best in Alberta short filmmaking.

On Sunday, September 25 audiences will enjoy a screening of CIFF’s Top 10 Alberta-made shorts, an award presentation of the $2,500 juried cash prize, and an after-party at Workshop Kitchen + Culture at Theatre Junction GRAND.

Alberta Spirit, now in its 12th year, encompasses CIFF’s selection of the best overall short films of the year from the province’s filmmakers. This year Alberta Spirit moves into a brand new series at the festival, Alberta Scene, which showcases and celebrates Alberta content screening at the festival.

It’s a great opportunity for the industry and audiences to come together and celebrate the achievements of Alberta short film.”
