LITTLE BROTHER

Year 2023
Runtime 94 mins
Language English
International Premiere

In Sheridan O'Donnell's profoundly human feature directorial debut, two estranged brothers drive across the American West, attempting to reconcile the traumas of the past. Younger brother Jake desperately hopes to forge a bond with his big brother, Pete.

Pete has just attempted suicide - again. His concerned parents (Polly Draper and Academy Award® Winner JK Simmons) have recruited Jake to drive his older brother home for a good old "family intervention".

To say that these two brothers are estranged is a huge understatement. While Jake is quiet and responsible, Pete is a free spirit battling countless internal demons.

Inspired by situations in O'Donnell's own life, LITTLE BROTHER is a beautiful film that - while filled with heart and humour - never takes its subject matter lightly. When it comes to matters of mental health, addiction, depression, or suicide...there are no easy answers - a fact of which LITTLE BROTHER is keenly aware.

Content Warning: themes of suicide.
