A smart and tender look at a young housewife’s attempts to find her own voice.

Isa (a brilliant Daniela Valenciano) is a young housewife who has her hands full looking after her two daughters and managing her career. However, she is constantly under pressure from her husband and in-laws to have another child even though their finances and household can’t justify another child. The constant pressure wrecks havoc on Isa and slowly she starts blurring the line between reality and her thoughts. She is forced to take matters into her own hands to exert her independence.

Antonella Sudasassi’s thoughtful script and masterful direction coupled with Andrés Campos’ lively visuals ensure even ordinary moments such as icing a cake or a late night sexual act are viewed in a different perspective. The film is rooted in a small Costa Rican town but there is a universality to the story; the events could unfold in any society where there is an imbalance in a relationship due to a patriarchal structure making this a highly relevant film for our times.
