Born into an unconventional Ecuadorian family, Paola grows up moving between Ecuador and Colombia and finds herself unable to fit in any mold. Her father is a priest, her mother is a psychic and her sisters are not what their parents expected. With a unique feminine vision of the world, Paola will have to fight against prejudice and struggle for her independence while her universe is struck by a series of crises.
VIRUS TROPICAL is an intricate, female-led narrative with incredible black and white animation, and adapted from Powerpaola’s critically acclaimed autobiographical graphic novel of the same name. - Brenda Lieberman
