Lorenzo is a disturbed 14-year-old boy who lies to his mother about leaving on a ski trip with friends. Instead, he means to sneak back into the family basement suite and spend some time away from everyone else. But his half-sister, twenty-something Olivia, turns up with a different idea altogether. What follows is Lorenzo’s introduction to the world outside his door.
Famed Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci (Last Tango in Paris, Stealing Beauty) makes his return to cinema after an almost ten-year absence, casting relative newcomers Tea Falco and Jacopo Olmo Antinori as his young protagonists, and setting them loose to explore the seamy Italian urban underworld. Both Falco and Antinori earned notable praise on the European festival circuit for their portrayals of Lorenzo and Olivia, and Me and You was recently named Italian Film of the Year by the Nastri d’Argento, Italy’s oldest film awards.
