Director/ Writer Marc Bisaillon in Attendance!

The second in an announced tetralogy of films about a guilty conscience, GUILT is the story of two teenage friends trying to cope with the emotional burden of having killed a man after a night of partying. As pressure from external forces and their own consciences mount, it becomes less and less likely that the two friends will be able to keep the accident to themselves. Based on a true story, GUILT paints a sensitive portrait of adolescence exaggerated and amplified by the tremendous gravity of its heroes’ awful secret.

Auteur director Marc Bisaillon’s thematic obsession comes from his childhood in an insular Quebec community where silence – even when it took an incredible toll – was regarded as an absolute virtue. GUILT follows Bisaillon’s COWARDICE, which chronicled the effects of an eyewitness to a terrible crime keeping the knowledge trapped inside. Bisaillon intends to explore his leitmotif through multiple genres, with future films in his series including a police thriller and a black comedy.
