2007 Festival Galas

• American Express Opening Gala Presentation
  The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford will be screened at the American Express Opening Gala on Thursday, September 20 at the Globe Theatre starting at 7:00pm. The Gala Reception will follow at Belgo Brasserie.
  THIS GALA HAS SOLD OUT! A SECOND SCREENING OF THE FILM FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC HAS BEEN ADDED HERE.
• Volkswagen "Take Charge" Gala
  Walk All Over Me will be screened at the Volkswagen "Take Charge" Gala on Saturday, September 22 at the Uptown Stage and Screen starting at 7:00pm. The Gala Reception will follow at Belgo Brasserie.
• Avenue Magazine Closing Night Gala
  Lust, Caution will be screened at the Avenue Magazine Closing Night Gala on Saturday, September 29 at the Globe Cinema starting at 7:00pm. The Gala Reception will follow at Wild Ginger.

Festival Highlights

• Youth By Youth Cinema Competition
  The Calgary International Film Festival is pleased to present the Youth by Youth Cinema (YYC) Competition for young Alberta filmmakers in grades 4 through 12. Selected films from local youth will make up the program for this CIFF YYC Special Presentation screening.
• Youth Film Series
  For the 2007 Youth Film Series Best of the Fest is a selection of films specifically chosen for the school audience. Taken from the CIFF program, these films focus on cultural diversity, artistic excellence, socio-political issues and emotional intelligence.
