Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl
VAMPIRE GIRL VS. FRANKENSTEIN GIRL is the latest buckets-of-blood offering from Japanese gore-masters Naoyuki Tomomatsu and Yoshihiro Nishimura (their last film TOKYO GORE POLICE played last year’s CIFF to a sold out crowd!). Based on a manga by Shungiku Uchida, this slapstick horror tells the tale of two schoolgirls who pine for the same young man.
High school student Mizushima receives Valentine’s Day chocolates from the cute new girl in his class, Monami Arukado. Little does Mizushima know, but Monami is a vampire, and the chocolates contain traces of her vampire blood. Mizushima gets infected from eating them, and Monami, desperately in love, confesses that she wants to live forever with Mizushima in vampire bliss.
Mizushima’s girlfriend Keiko Furano is overtaken by jealousy from seeing the two together, and when she sees the two on the school rooftop kissing, she attempts to throw Monami off the roof but falls herself instead. The plunge from the roof kills her, but her father, Kenji Furano, the mad scientist, resurrects her as Frankenstein Girl.
Thus begins a deadly combat between Franken Keiko and Vampire Monami in the name of love.
